    Keough Hot Springs Pool

Keough Hot Springs is a public swimming pool south of Bishop, CA.  I had driven by the sign countless times before actually visiting for the first time with my family last year.  Since our first visit we have gone back many times and love going there with our kids.  Keough Hot Springs is full of history. It was purchased in 1919 by Phillip Keough and in 1920 became a lesiure resort destination. The pool property has had several owners over the last 100 years. Currently Keough Hot Springs features a pool and also a covered hot tub area.  There are several shaded and non shaded areas with lounge chairs for amazing sun bathing.  I don’t think you will find a public pool with cleaner water anywhere as they pipe the water in straight from the hot spring and drain and refill the pool weekly.  This is truly a special destination and great for pool lovers and kids.  The people here are very nice.  They also have camping and a picnic area with barbecues. This is a great stop on your way to and from Mammoth Lakes whether for a few hours or to spend the entire day.  The pool is open 6 days a week and closed on Tuesdays (when they refill the water).  Keough Hot Springs is a hidden gem in the Eastern Sierra. They also offer tent camping, RV camping and Tent Cabins for those looking for a longer getaway.  For more info visit:
